The Rector of the ULPGC, Lluís Serra Majem, and the President of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales Méndez, paid a visit on Monday to the facilities in the Taliarte area where the University Institutes of Oceanography and Global Change (IOCAG) and Aquaculture (ECOAQUA) and the Spanish Algae Bank (BEA).
Together with the researcher of the ISLANDAP ADVANCED international project, Lidia Robaina, they visited the facilities of the ECOAQUA Circular Economy pilot plant and learned more about the activities that are being developed with local by-products such as dates, grape bagasse, aloe vera, coffee wells, among others, in order to reincorporate them into the circular economy.
