Methodologically and scientifically, islands are ideal &#8220;laboratories&#8221; for sustainable landscape management. Islands are unique both in their attractiveness and in their climatic vulnerability, they are relatively isolated and \u201cby themselves\u201d compared to mainland areas, but they are also more dependent on and need to be well connected to other areas rather than mainland areas.
